It’s been a tough week. One of those where having read Psalms 109, I wondered if I could be so bold as to ask God to smite my enemies. You know, the way David did in Psalms 109…
“Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand. When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin. Let his days be few; and let another take his office. Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.”
Yeah, that. As in completely do away with a few of the pesky people who just got it in ’em to create havoc. Evaporate them into thin air or worse, if you can imagine, have the devil in charge of those pesky people’s even peskier, wickeder enemies. There is nothing like old Testament retribution.
And then I went to Sunday School this morning. Honestly, I wasn’t thinking it was going to be all that good. An author named Edward Fudge wrote a book and while we were going to all get a free copy, I couldn’t imagine that listening to a book interview would be all that compelling for the last day of the weekend.
But if the book is anything like the man, I say go out and buy it. RIGHT NOW!
There are people in this world, not perfect ones mind you, but ones where the love of Christ just shine through them.
