This came from my Josh. I couldn’t agree with him more. He should have written the post.
The way it’s written sounds like we should try to not talk about things like Trump bad mouthing Mexicans or Hillary being a liar because it scares the kids. The purpose of the news is to inform the voters and some of that is important for people to know so they can make educated votes. The sensationalism should be tempered, but the content for the sake of children should not. Parents need to either be cautious of what they let their children watch or use it as a teaching point.

Emphasis on SOME of it being important. There is a lot that is just sensationalized nonsense, meant to stir up emotions rather than productive (or at least respectful) dialog and discussion.
