I’ve been concocting. Not quite a witches brew, but someone did accuse me the other day of running a compound pharmacy. He was jealous. I think he wanted me to give him a sample.

In about another month, I’ll let you know what I have gotten myself into, or rather Silent Bob has gotten me into.

In the meantime I have been trying to figure out how to make a label for the stuff! Who knew that ALL of that information needed to be on the bottle. (The FDA spells it out in 36 some odd pages).

So I was trying to use Adobe Illustrator for the purpose.

I felt completely confident I could do it.

The bottle manufacturer came back and said, “Please made the label appropriate to the curved side of the container.”

What?

I’m that person who believes everything she reads on the internet is true, at least where it concerns tutorials.

The problem is that tutorials assume you have some basic skills, especially if the tutorial is on how to extrude a 3-D label. (Yes, I do not have the basic skills they assume.)

I spent about 2 days, fiddling with the design, crashing my computer, getting my computer stuck and wondering if all those stories about macs vs PCs were indeed true.

Youngest son spent the night at our house and early Sunday morning I was up at it again.

“What are you trying to do?” he asked.

As I handed him the computer I did think in very self serving terms, this is a professional level program he has never even looked at, and began running the options in my mind on who I might contact that would be professionally proficient.

“Here you go,” he said, about 2 and 1/2 minutes later.

I’m currently wondering if my ambitions for this venture might better be left in the hands of a younger crowd.

(That’s a hint by the way.)
